We've been as busy as Santa's elves this week making toys and other bits for the Village Christmas Fayre next Friday evening.
The famous Avicraft Musical Penguins have been around for many years and, after dozens of request for them, you will be able to buy them at the Fayre. We have also been making hedgehogs and owls in King Cole Tinsel and have had a good sort through boxes and boxes of things I have knitted for the shop window over the years and many of them will be on sale at the Fayre. I hope, once the Fayre is over, to settle down with some Christmas Present Knitting for my friends and family and, with any luck, there will be a new member of the Avicraft family to knit gorgeous baby things for. Are you knitting presents this year? What knitted gifts would you like to receive?

I really don't like this damp weather, do you?
Still it does give me a good excuse to stay indoors and do some winter woolly knitting. Maybe I will finish the cardigan I'm knitting for my daughter. It's by Rico yarns in a feather light boucle yarn, long and black. I'd much rather be knitting in a bright colour when the weather is miserable but my daughter has already reached the age of the long black cardigan that covers everything. I remember making myself one when I was about 12 years old. It was black basic acrylic and every time it was washed it grew. I loved that cardigan and wore it until it disintegrated some 6 or 7 years later. It had become a total eyesore but it had seem me through heartache, illness and other afflictions of the teenage years so I parted with it with a heavy heart. I hope Caitlin's cardigan lasts as long and keeps her feeling safe through her teens. |
